New Op Art Coasters
At last it seems like Spring may have sprung! We've sneaked a couple of dry, sunny days, greenery is returning in the Inkabilly garden and our two year old daughter is loving all the opportunities to dig in the dirt for slugs and snails!
With all this new life burgeoning (apart from the poor slugs that don't survive long in the hands of a toddler), our creative minds have turned to more organic shapes and colours and I was inspired to create our own Op Art pattern. I have always loved the Op Art of the 1970's, but I have mainly been looking at Mid Century Barkcloth recently (my Pinterest is bulging with the stuff!) and so whereas I started with very much 1950's ideas, I seem to have ventured more into the 1970's with this design. The colours especially are definitely more of a 70's palette. I am pretty please with the results .. so pleased in fact that we now have a set of the orange coasters on our coffee table, and I can say that they look very good on teak!
Anyway, whichever era they suit most, these coasters are now available on our website! We always say we like to mix up our retro ... and why not ... and as for the 1950's barkcloth inspired designs, they'll emerge at some point soon ...
All of our vintage inspired coasters can be found on our website www.inkabilly.com
